The MapDice Daily Challenge: One City, One Route, the Same for Everyone
▶ Play MapDiceSome games are best with friends. Others are best as a small ritual you come back to every day. The MapDice daily challenge is that ritual: once a day, the whole world races through the same city on the same route, and a leaderboard shows who did it best. It takes a few minutes, it is free, and it gives you a new reason to open the game every morning.
A new city every day
Each day, at midnight UTC, the daily challenge moves to a different real city somewhere in the world. Everyone gets exactly the same map, the same START and the same destination, because the route is built from the date itself. One day you race along the boulevards of a European capital, the next through the grid of an American city or the winding lanes of an old town in Asia. Exploring a new place is half the fun.
How you are ranked
In the daily challenge you race against three robots. Your goal is to finish as high as possible: bring your four characters home first if you can. Ties are broken by speed, so the fewer rounds you need, the higher you climb. You can play again during the day to improve, and the leaderboard always keeps your best result. After each race you see your place among all the players of the day.
Keep your streak alive
Play the challenge on consecutive days and you build a streak, shown with a flame next to your result. Miss a day and it starts again from zero, so the streak becomes a small promise to yourself. Your record stays in your browser, with your best streak and your recent days, and you do not need an account to keep it.
Share your result and challenge friends
When you finish, you can share a short summary of your race: the day, the city, your place and the number of rounds. Post it in your family chat, your group of friends or on social media and ask the simple question every player loves: can you beat me? Because everyone races the same route that day, the comparison is fair, and the debate about the best road choices can last until tomorrow's city appears.
How to get a better daily score
Read the route before you roll. Look at where the destination lies, which avenues lead there and where rivals are likely to cross your path. Bring characters out of START early when you roll doubles, avoid parking next to robots that can catch you, and use your items before you roll when they can change the race. Above all, remember that every road choice matters: the shortest line on the map is not always the fastest way home.
