How to Play MapDice Online with Friends: Rooms, Invite Links and Rematches

MapDice is fun against robots, but it becomes a real party game when your friends are on the other side of the board. Because it runs in the browser, everyone can join from their own phone or computer, wherever they are: across the table, across town or across the world. There is nothing to install and nobody needs an account. This guide shows you how to set up an online race in less than a minute, and how to keep the fun going all evening.

Create a room in one tap

On the MapDice home screen, press PLAY ONLINE and then CREATE ROOM. The game instantly picks a real city and a route from START to the destination, and opens a room with up to four seats. Your seat is ready; the others wait for your friends. Every seat in an online room is for a real person, so there are no robots taking places at the table. You can start the race as soon as two players are in.

Invite your friends with a link or a code

Each room has an invite link and a short six-character code, like K7QM2X. Tap INVITE FRIENDS to send the link through WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, email or any app on your phone. Your friends open it, choose a name and an avatar, and they are sitting at your table. If someone prefers typing, they can press JOIN A ROOM on the home screen and enter the code instead. When all four seats are taken, anyone else who opens the link watches the race live as a spectator.

Start the race together

When everyone is ready, each player presses I'M READY and the race begins. Empty seats are removed when the game starts, so a race with two or three friends works just as well as a full table. Turns pass from player to player in real time: you see every roll of the dice, every road choice, every rocket and every trap as it happens. If a friend loses their connection for a moment, the game keeps going and plays their turn in their place, so nobody is left waiting.

Rematch and keep playing

At the end, the podium shows who brought all four characters home first. One tap on rematch puts the same friends back at the table for another race, so you can play best of three or settle a rivalry in one more game. Each race is different: a new city, new roads and new surprises on the way, from nitro boosts and police stops to traffic jams and closed streets.

Tips for a great game night

Share the room link in your group chat before everyone arrives, so people can join the moment they are free. Play on a phone in portrait for one-handed racing, or on a laptop to see more of the map. Agree on a house rule for knockouts before the first race, because sending a friend back to START always starts a story. And if one player is new, let them read the one-minute rules on the start screen: the game is easy to learn and hard to put down.
