MAPDICE

Play a Ludo-Style Board Game Online, on Real Streets

▶ Play MapDice

MapDice is a free online board game that plays like Ludo, but on the real streets of any city. You roll two dice, move one of your four characters, catch rivals to send them back to START, and win by bringing all four characters home first. It runs in the browser: play against robots, or invite up to 3 friends with a link.

What does MapDice keep from Ludo?

The heart of Ludo is there: four characters each, dice that decide how far you go, captures that send a rival back to START, and a race to bring everyone home. Rolling a double gives you another turn, so a lucky roll can still turn a game around.

What is different from classic Ludo?

The board is a real city map. The total of your dice is real road distance, and at every intersection you choose which way to go, so two players with the same roll can end up in very different places.

Road events change the race too: a nitro boost, a police stop, traffic jams and closed roads. Crates hold items — rockets, freezes, oil slicks, spikes and shields — to slow your rivals down or protect your own characters.

How do I play Ludo online with friends?

Create a room in one tap and share its link or code on WhatsApp, Messenger or anywhere else. Friends join from their own phone or computer, everyone presses READY, and the race starts. You can also pass one device around, or play alone against three robots.

Ludo strategy, with roads

Classic Ludo tips still help: spread your characters out, keep one in reserve and capture when you can. On a map you can also pick quieter roads, block narrow streets and keep an item for the right moment.

Every day there is also a daily challenge: the same city and route for everyone, with a leaderboard, so you can compare your result with friends.

Questions about Ludo online

How many players can play?

Up to 4. Play alone against 3 robots, or with up to 3 friends online or on one device.

Is it free, without a download?

Yes. MapDice is free, runs in the browser on phones and computers, and needs no account.

Can I play in my own city?

Yes. Almost any city in the world can be the board, thanks to OpenStreetMap's streets.
