Empire Tap Strategy: Tips to Build an Empire That Lasts

Anyone can found a land in Empire Tap: tap the same spot twenty times and it is yours. Keeping it, growing it and turning it into an empire that sits at the top of the leaderboard is another story. The players who last are not the ones who tap the fastest, but the ones who tap with a plan. These tips will help you build an empire that grows every day and survives every war.

Choose your spot with care

Your first land arrives with a welcome gift of 1,000 square metres, so its location matters. A place you know, like your street or your city centre, is great for pride, but look at the neighbours too. Founding right next to a huge rival empire means war from day one. A quieter area gives you time to grow, and you can always expand towards the action later.

Grow and fortify at the right moment

Every twenty taps on your land either grow it by ten square metres or, in "more strength" mode, raise its defence by one. Defence decides how many taps an enemy needs to drain ten square metres from you. Early on, growth makes you visible and climbs the leaderboard. As soon as an enemy land touches yours, switch to strength on that border: a land with high defence is a wall that most attackers give up on.

Build a kingdom, not scattered lands

Found new lands side by side and they merge into a kingdom with its own name, emblem and link. A compact kingdom is easier to watch and to defend than many small lands spread across the map. Keep your borders short, fill the gaps between your lands, and give your kingdom a name that people will remember when they see it on the map.

Earn gold every day and spend it wisely

Gold comes from the daily gift, from friends who join with your invite link, and from the three daily missions, which pay more when you finish them on consecutive days. Spend it with a plan. A boost doubles your growth for ten minutes, so use it when you have time to tap. A shield protects one land for an hour, perfect when you must leave during a war. The crown and the golden glow are pure prestige for later.

Fight smart wars

Only attack when your land touches the enemy's, and choose targets with low defence: draining them costs fewer taps. Finish what you start, because a land drained to zero disappears from the map, while a half-drained land can be rebuilt. Check your alerts after every break, use revenge when someone hits you, and join a clan so that friends cover your borders while you sleep.
